Passenger hits IndiGo pilot, video goes viral

A passenger, allegedly assaulted a pilot on an IndiGo flight. He has been identified as Sahil Kataraia, who allegedly assaulted an IndiGo pilot mid-announcement about delays on flight 6E-2175 from Delhi to Goa, delayed due to fog.

The assailant, wearing a yellow hoodie, attacked the new pilot brought in due to Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) after prolonged delays. FDTL aims to ensure crew well-being by enforcing rest periods.

The incident occurred amid widespread disruptions at Delhi airport, with 110 flights delayed and 79 canceled. The average delay was 50 minutes, compounding frustrations for passengers dealing with extensive disruptions caused by adverse weather. IndiGo has filed a complaint, and the video of the assault has gone viral on social media.
